WORK PERMIT
Allows foreign nationals to legally work in Canada on a short-term basis. In order to obtain an LMIA permit, a company must demonstrate that hiring a foreign national would not have a negative impact on Canadian workers. Canada's LMIA programme is a mechanism for employers to respond to a lack of qualified workers in the country by bringing in foreign nationals.
